Move Through And Past Fear To Gain Success.

Starting a business, creating a blog, writing a book, creating a product, or achieving any kind of huge business goal can be kind of scary, especially if you’ve never done it before. Gaining success can seem almost impossible if you can’t see past fear to get a clear view of the big picture.

I allowed fear to hold me back in the past. This didn’t serve me.

For example:

Had I not been afraid I’d have successfully published fiction books years ago.

I worried about:

  • People’s opinions.
  • If I was a good enough writer.
  • If God would be in support of such a career.
  • If I could promote myself.
  • What my extended family would think.
  • If my book would come out perfect.
  • If my book would sell.
  • Naysayers opinions.
  • And countless other things that only served to perpetuate my fear and hold me back.

Realization.

I didn’t realize that the only opinion that truly mattered was my own. I’m now actively working towards self-publishing my first fiction novel. I’m no longer aiming for perfection because it doesn’t exist.

I’m proud of myself for finishing the rough draft of my book and overcoming some fears. Some spend a lifetime stuck because of fear.

I’d never finished a book in the past, though I’ve started many.

I allow myself to dream big, no matter how wild and crazy it may seem at the time. You are not tethered to where you come from.

Some successful people have beat seemingly insurmountable odds and came from very unpleasant backgrounds. The difference between them and someone else stuck in the same situations is that they didn’t let it stop them.

You are not tethered to where you came from. Not a block, neighborhood, city, state, or even country for that matter.

Let Gratitude Be Your Way Of Life.

I am grateful for everything, the negative and the positive because it all shaped me into who I am at this very moment.

I practice gratitude daily from being grateful for the water I drink, the food I eat and my home to being grateful for the words that pour forth from my fingers and mouth, for what I know is yet to come, and for the great unknown.

I am grateful for it all.

I Dream Bigger.

Some of my dreams I’m very open about and some dreams I keep to myself for now. You do not have let everyone know every little thing about you. It’s okay to keep some things to yourself. Especially when it comes to naysayers.

There are some people I will never discuss my dreams with. I don’t have time for unnecessary aggravation. Talking to the wrong people can be a real dream killer.

Keep Your Eyes And Ears Open.

I study and pay attention to the successful. These are people who have overcome challenges to get to where I desire to be. Living my wildest dreams.

I don’t just pay attention to those who are currently doing what I’d like to do. I pay attention to those who are living their dreams period whether they are an author, owner of a hair care company, talk show host, television channel owner, or a music mogul.

  • I read their books.
  • I watch their movies or videos.
  • I listen to their songs or other audios.
  • I take their courses.
  • I follow their social media pages.
  • I read their blogs.

I love to learn so I keep my eyes and ears open.

Truthfully, everyone is my teacher. They’re either teaching me what to do or what not to do.

Everything that you either do or don’t will play a part in your journey towards success. You can either move closer to it or farther away, it’s your choice.

In fact, most overnight successes are at least five to 10 years in the making.There are many steps, small and large that you could take to set your business on the path to success.

While you might have just heard of a newly successful person you might not be aware of all the hard work they put in and all the mistakes they made.

Your Version Of Success Might Not Be Mine.

Keep in mind that success is in the mind of the beholder. One person’s success might be mansions and fancy cars while another person’s success might be a reclusive spot in the mountains.

And another person’s version of success might be keeping the utilities on and groceries in the refrigerator.

There is no right or wrong version of success so I don’t judge the things people desire in life. I believe we are supposed to live our dreams and not what someone else deems to be correct.

I also believe our view of success change over time. Change is the one definite constant in life.

Here are four things I’ve learned that you must do in order to be successful. Your success will not be because of some fluke, overnight miracle or by accident.

Dare:

Dare to be great! Don’t aim for just okay or mediocre. You aren’t here to be mediocre. Aim for the stars and you just might catch one.

Dare to believe there are no limits. You are capable of doing so much more than you may think you can. Believe in yourself, you are an unlimited being.

Develop:

Develop the courage to live out your dream and bring it in to fruition even if it’s a dream that no one else has.

Develop the skills necessary to carry out your idea and outsource tasks that you find unpleasant so you can get the ball rolling and keep it moving.

Develop and maintain the mindset that you are a winner, no matter what happens and strive to keep going. Failing doesn’t make you lose, giving up does because giving up doesn’t offer you anything.

Develop yourself. Read books, listen to audios, watch videos, listen to those who have already walked the path.

Keep your eyes and ears open, pay attention. Self-development expands your mind. Change your mind to change your life.

Conquer:

Conquer your fear of running into problems with your business. Stop overthinking.

Conquer your fear of becoming successful. You deserve success just as much as the next person. It is not your destiny to play it small.

Conquer your fear of the unknown. It is through change that great things happen and miracles appear. Don’t be afraid to dance to the beat of a different drummer. You are unique, let that be reflected in your business and your life.

Apply:

Apply the knowledge, skills, and wisdom you develop to your business. Do this consistently while working your plan and you will be well on your way towards reaching your goals.

When you learn to do better you now have a responsibility to do better.

Just because someone else doesn’t think your idea is great or feel that you can pull it off, doesn’t mean that it’s true. your dream isn’t meant for everyone to get. That’s why it was placed inside your heart and mind.

The right mindset, developing skills, and never quitting packs such a powerful punch that no naysayer will be able to hold you down.

No amount courses you take, webinars you attend, groups you join, people you follow on social media site, blogs you read, or coaching you receive won’t amount to anything unless you work to apply what you have learned.

It isn’t the acquiring of knowledge that makes you successful but how you choose to apply it to your life and business.

Stay consistent because no one is going to work your business for you. Having a business means you’ll have to work but that work can be so rewarding.
